Jessica Mae Shen

Skills: 工坊 Workshop

Dance theater work X TroubleDancers Workshop

“黏” is a dance piece. The source of the idea came from Jessica’s observation of the pandemic. Furthermore, she used the body to record them. The core concept is the uncertainty of the future and the blurred identification of threat causing the never-settling sense. The piece is showing the awkward social relationship during the nerve-racking pandemic. Two dancers represent two dealing methods of the same demand. Hence, the two are both dependent and averse. Many people had made adjustments and contributions to the fundamental needs during the pandemic. At the same time, many had constructed theories that are more convenient. “黏” demonstrates the development of two dealing methods became more blurred and unpredictable.

“In the 2020 crisis, the human relationship has been dramatically reset. Through self-benefiting reasons, 黏represents the buffered friction in human relationships. The stagger between freedom and control blurred people’s boundaries”

About “黏”- Video: Have you ever clean your printer?

Except for the printer & the scanner, the communication other then WIFI and Bluetooth is also important.

The juice on the desk flipped and splashed over the laptop. The printer successfully scans the fluid. Fragrant and sticky… Don’t touch it! Let it spread a little… “Don’t ask ‘why’ anymore”

Hunter Kennedy (音乐设计 Sound Designer)

Hunter Kennedy– Sound Designer, Composer, Singer-Songwriter, and Producer. Hunter plays multiple instruments but his main two are voice and keyboards. His musical and audio expertise spans across multiple different styles with alluring melodies, and lyrics inspired by the precious relatable moments of life. He values his versatility and the challenges brought on by exploration. His most recent single is “Everlasting” and the last release prior to that is “You.”

I joined this project because I wanted to experiment with new styles of music I do not create quite as often. I was looking forward to serving as Jessica Mae Shen’s sound designer after collaborating with her on her projects “4Y07, Black” and “Cherries Lab.” I also enjoyed the opportunity to explore the topic of “Nian” and how that attribute expresses and manifests itself in everyday life.
