Shakhnoza Muborakova’s (b.2001, Namangan, Uzbekistan) work operates within a poetics of containment and exposure, where the body emerges not as image but as site—imprinted, withheld, and perpetually negotiated. Her canvases function as affective apparatuses, recording the friction between inner states and external demands, between what is felt and what is permitted to appear. Informed by a sensitivity to systems of control—both institutional and intimate—her practice traces the soft violences that shape subjecthood: love as structure, illness as language, memory as a disciplinary tool.

Through a vocabulary of symbolic compression and embodied abstraction, Shakhnoza stages a subtle defiance—refusing the transparency of confession, the coherence of narrative, or the comfort of resolution. These are not representations of the body but performances of its thresholds, where the political and the personal bleed indistinguishably into one another.
