Contemplating and analysing the universal concepts of Love, Ethan LK (Lieutet Khnafo) is a Paris native artist and writer in a perpetual search for way to unlock new layers of understanding life. Deeply rooted in personal experiences and studies on emotionality, and his heritage, Ethan’s practice employs a broad variety of tools, such as symbolism, zoomorphic analogy, mind mapping research and his body as a receptacle for a series of tests.
This profound interrogation is plastically contained in performances that explore the tension between imminent death and the eternal quest to find love. Whether it is transforming into a crocodile to imagine for an instant, a world where only the reptilian brain exists, exploration humans relation with the sun, or indulging motions, these actions create a dialogue with key elements of how we view and relate to others in a rapidly changing environment. Developing from the deep study of limbic resonance to romantic comedies, Ethan also uses his practice to create objects composed of bones, dead insects, and ephemeral patterns on his body, delving into subjects such as love in a nuclear family world, the unavoidable passage of time, and grieving together. This experiments are always signed with a humorist and self-ironical tone.
Finally, all of these actions ultimately fall into a desperate attempt to counter the fear of his own death, and to answer the ultimate question:
‘’Will I ever find true love ?’

Photosynthesis of the Soul is an installation exploring the correlation between human interaction and our relationship with our guiding star, the sun. Deeply rooted in research on emotionality, heritage, and philosophical sources, this installation seeks to shed (sun)light on the hypothesis that human relationships are as damaging as they are essential; much like the sun: burning, yet producing the vital Vitamin D.

Solar love and delightful tanning sessions.

The sand dunes composing the installation are activated through a zoomorphic metamorphosis into a cold-blooded animal, constantly in need of the sun to stay warm.

It delves into the cultural duality of snake charming

a prism through which this love/harm relationship becomes visible.

Ultra/Violet. Ultra/Violence.

The rays of our celestial body was caressing my skin, trans- piercing my flesh and bleaching my hairs. An experience transposed further than by the physical touch, I sense it deep down my soul photosynthesed, Convoyed to my veins, Through my sap, Climbing my spine, Reaching my skull, Blooming the leaves, of my lives, Is it love ? Is it bliss ?
