Yage Si is a Chinese American sculptor and fiber artist whose creative practice unfolds at the intersection of material, memory, and emotion. Working primarily with fiber and clay, complemented by paper and selected recycled materials, she seeks to build a new language that bridges fiber art and sculpture. Through an exploration of softness and hardness, her slow, meditative making process transforms sensations, emotions, and fragments of memory into tangible forms—constructing a gentle yet profound visual expression. Her work continuously reflects on themes of healing, fragmentation, and rebirth.

For Yage, slowness and tactility are not merely aesthetic choices, but a way of conversing with time, space, and life itself. Through organic and structural forms, she invites the audience to experience reconnection and renewal—between people, between humans and objects, and between humans and their surrounding spaces.

Yage studied at San Diego Miramar College, the University of California, Berkeley, and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), earning an Associate’s degree in Art History and Studio Art, a Bachelor of Arts in Art Practice, and a Master of Professional Studies in the Business of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited in New York, London, and Italy, featured in the London Design Festival, the ArtEvol group exhibition, and displayed in a public art project in New York’s Times Square. She is a recipient of the “Outstanding Sculpture Award” and “Honors Student” title from UC Berkeley, and has participated in several international artist residencies. Through her interdisciplinary practice spanning sculpture, installation, fiber art, and photography, she continues to explore the relationships between materiality and perception.
