Of a multidisciplinary practice, Portuguese artist Bárbara Jasmins develops her work from a fascination with hidden realities — those veiled beyond the limits of human perception — not as something to be conquered but as a space of encounter. Her installations explore the boundaries between visibility and disappearance, matter and spirit, body and landscape. Each gesture becomes a failed attempt to grasp what remains absent, yet within that failure, she finds what feels most intimate — a strange familiarity. It is precisely in this fracture, in the impossibility of fully attaining what she seeks, that her work takes shape — becoming a testament to that failure, a condition of being captive to the models of nature. By engaging with the mutable and the ephemeral, Jasmins seeks to reveal what remains silent, allowing form to emerge from states of tension, vulnerability, and transformation.
